The Sanford Cultural Guild, in partnership with Historic Hopper Academy and the City of Sanford’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Neighborhood Revitalization Program, opened the Georgetown Community Garden at Historic Hopper Academy in January of 2026.
The Georgetown Community Garden transformed space at the Historic Hopper Academy into a place for wellness, sustainability, and community connection. Designed with raised garden beds and shared tools, the garden supports residents of all ages and abilities while honoring the site’s historical significance and aiding neighborhood revitalization efforts.
The garden features 18 raised beds, meeting space, a shed, and room to grow in the future. Currently the garden is full.
